The next day dawned on the planet, the early morning sunrise blanketing everyone on it.

In her home, Jessica was still asleep on the couch, a blanket having been wrapped around her hours ago. She had relaxed into the lull of slumber, her breathing leveled and calm.

Something shook her shoulder, causing her to let out a mumble before slowly opening her eyes. Once Jessica had fully opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Tails standing nearby while he held up a freshly-bandaged Sonic, both giving her warm smiles.

"Sonic...? You're okay...!" The girl happy said, sitting up as the sleep slowly fled from her eyes.

"Course I am!" The hedgehog beamed. "Once I beat that mother wisp, I used chaos control and got the heck outta there. When I got back here, Tails here patched me up so you wouldn't worry so much."

"He's a little more beaten up than he was before, but he'll be fine. Nothing's broken, and his ankle just got scraped up a little, so he's still able to walk around." Tails continued. "His fever's gone, so that's a sign he's getting better. We need to just let him rest for today." So saying, the fox aided Sonic in sitting down next to Jessica on the couch. "I'm gonna go back to the workshop for a bit, so I'll be back in about a half-hour, or an hour at the most. You stay here and relax, alright bro?"

"Okay, if it'll mean so much to you." The speedster laughed, making the fox roll his eyes before walking out the front door, closing it with a barely audible click.

"So...everything's okay? How are Yacker and the others?" Jessica asked.

"From what Tails found out, their home planet is outside of ours right now, just as it was with Eggman's amusement park. They're going to head back to where they belong in about two days or so, just so they can get their bearings." Sonic replied, kicking off his shoes and setting them on the floor nearby. His socked feet gave a content twitch before his gloved hands took hold of Jessica's. "So....we're alone now..."

"Yeah, and?" Jessica questioned, smiling down at their clasped hands.

"Well..." The hedgehog's ears twitched as a faint blush appeared on his muzzle. "I just thought that....I could do this..." Sonic then leaned closer to Jessica and kissed her, giving a low moan of pleasure as she kissed back, their tongues experimenting with each other. Seconds later, the kiss was broken as the hedgehog noticed something off about Jessica.

"Jess? You okay? You seem kindda...upset about something." The azure one asked, placing his hands on her shoulders.

Jessica let out a sigh. "Yeah, I'm fine, honest. I just...I was worried about you, I guess. I know it's stupid, but....I just love you way too much to lose you."

Sonic's gaze softened before remembering his hands were still on her shoulders. Knowing this, he began to rub her shoulders soothingly as he responded to her statement. "I get it. But hey....I don't want you to worry, alright? I'll always stay with you, okay? I promise."

Jessica let out a content noise as her shoulders were rubbed, feeling herself relax. "...Alright." She said after the hero had finished speaking, leaning into the rubbing on her shoulders. Of course, Sonic noticed this, and chuckled.

"You like that, huh?" At her nod, Sonic removed his gloves, setting them on the armrest behind him. "Well, if you want, I could give you a back rub, too."

"Hm...I'd like that." Jessica smiled, watching him remove his gloves. "Hey, before you do that, I wanna ask you something. How come your stomach, chest, arms, and muzzle don't have fur? How come they're just skin? Y'know, like a human's skin; it's just kindda odd to me. I mean, only those parts of you have just skin, and you have fur and quills everywhere else! It doesn't make sense to me, but that could be because my whole body is just skin...."

If the hero was perfectly honest, he actually hadn't given that much thought about that before. "I dunno, to be honest." Sonic replied, glancing down at his bare, peach-skinned hands. "Those parts of my body have always been like that since I was born, so I guess it's just genetics or somethin'."

"Well, I think it makes you look more human; y'know, like me." Jessica smiled. "And yet, you're still so different at the same time...."

"Eh, I guess so." The hedgehog shrugged. "Now, let's get to that back rub I promised. Turn around for me." The girl did as instructed, now sitting in with her back facing Sonic. Smiling, he began massaging her back, brow furrowing at the knots in her back.

"Oh...Ooh man..." Jessica sighed. "Mmn....that feels good, blue....oh, man...."

Sonic's ears twitched at her sighs of pleasure as he continued to massage her back. "Man, Jess, you've got some pretty bad knots in your back. You're way too tense." The hedgehog was genuinely worried about Jessica. After all, she had never been this tense before! It was really getting to Sonic now.

Jessica could hear the worry in Sonic's voice, and immediately felt guilty. "I...didn't realize I was that tense..I mean, I did feel a little tense last night, but I guess it got a little worse...."

"You've been feeling tense and in pain since last night?!" The azure hedgehog gasped. "Why didn't you say something?!"

Jessica lowered her head a bit as her back continued to be massaged. "I'm sorry....I didn't want to worry you..."

Sonic glanced at the bandages on his left ankle, the upper half of his right leg, his left shoulder, and his right elbow, feeling his ears lower against his skull out of shame. She had been worried about him. "Well, I would've helped. After all, you helped me!" His glove-less hands then massaged Jessica's lower back, making sure to get rid of any and all knots in that area.

The moment Sonic's hands began to massage her lower back, Jessica let out a pleasurable yelp. "A-ah! Ohh....th-that feels nice...." That back rub really DID feel great...! Jessica felt her shoulders droop as she smiled; she had never felt this good before!

"Ha, glad ya' think so!" Sonic laughed, all worries he had for her melting away. She'd be fine. So long as he made sure he was okay, too. Once all of the knots in her back were gone, he stopped rubbing her back, grabbing his gloves from the armrest behind him and pulling them back onto his hands.

When she felt the hedgehog's hands leave her back, ending her massage, Jessica let out a happy hum before turning so she could face the azure hedgehog once more. She faced him just in time to see him pull his gloves back on, tugging the cuffs of his gloves into place as he wriggled his fingers, feeling the fabric of his gloves. "Thanks, blue. I needed that." Jessica smiled, wrapping her arms around Sonic in a hug.

Sonic winced at the hug, body still sore from his recent injuries. "E-Easy there, Jess! I'm still kinda sore!"

"Oh, sorry!" Jessica yelped, releasing from her hug. She looked at the bandages on the hedgehog's body before sighing. "I guess we both better be more careful, huh?" Jessica chuckled, rubbing her left arm.

Sonic couldn't help but chuckle back. "Guess so. I'll be alright, though."

Jessica smiled back before standing up. "Well, I'm gonna go get changed. I'll be right back, okay?" The girl then headed to her room, closing the door and locking at so no one would barge in while she changed. After changing into a pair of denim shorts and a green tank top, Jessica unlocked her door and headed back to the living room.

"Well, took ya' long enough." Sonic quipped, still sitting up on the couch.

"Oh, you're just impatient. I was only gone for about two minutes." Jessica quipped back, a teasing smirk on her face as she sat down next to Sonic.

The hedgehog could only laugh at Jessica's response. "Well, can't argue with that! You look nice, by the way." Sonic added, smiling warmly at Jessica.

"Oh, th-thanks." Jessica beamed, a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.

Sonic smiled even more, before he noticed how...shiny her lips were. They sure didn't look like that before she left to get changed! "Uh, Jess, is there any reason your lips look....shiny?" The hedgehog leaned closer to her, trying to see if he could tell why her lips were so shiny and glossy, when his nose twitched at the scent of....strawberries? Giving another sniff, Sonic realized the scent was on Jessica's lips. "Wait....are you wearing lip gloss?"

Jessica felt herself blush quite a bit once that question was asked. "U-Uh...yeah. I...p-put some on after I got changed just now...." She smiled nervously as she continued to blush.

"Heh, I think this is the first time I've ever seen you wear lip gloss." Sonic chuckled. "I think you should wear lip gloss more often." The hedgehog added, smirking as he pulled Jessica closer to him so that their lips were mere inches away. "Makes you look even more irresistible." The azure speedster said nothing more as he pressed his lips against Jessica's. While they kissed, Sonic almost didn't want to stop; he was lost in his love for Jessica, the only things he felt was her pressed against him and their kiss. Soon, however, they had to break the kiss, both knowing they couldn't stay that way forever even though they really wanted to. To make up for that, they both just stayed pressed close to each other, Jessica making sure she didn't add any uncomfortable pressure to Sonic's injuries.

"You fur and quills feel really soft and sleek, blue." Jessica commented as she ran her hands through the quills on his head, pressing herself close to him so she could feel his fur as well.

"Yeah, Tails made me take a shower so I could clean my wounds." The hedgehog replied. "He figured I could use one anyway, while I was at it." He scowled the tiniest bit. "I wasn't that unclean, was I?"

Jessica rolled her eyes. "You still had spots of oil and grease from all of the robots you smashed at Eggman's amusement park. I was planning on having you take one today, anyway. You're lucky I still let you sleep on the couch; you didn't seem to be covered in the stuff, so I figured I'd let you sleep on the couch anyway."

Emerald eyes continued to scowl. "You can be real cruel, y'know that?"

"Oh, stop." The human girl laughed. "We're just looking out for you."

Sonic looked as if he were going to respond, but at that moment the front door opened, and in walked Tails, back from his workshop. "Hey guys, I-" He took notice of the couple on the couch, then chuckled. "Uh, I can leave you two alone if you'd like...."

Sonic and Jessica were then both aware they were still rather close to each other. Blushing, both scooted away from each other a little, causing the fox to laugh.

"Anyway, I just talked with Yacker, and it looks like him and the other wisps are headed back to their part of the galaxy in two days. Their mother would really appreciate it if we went and visited her at their home planet sometime tomorrow." The kit continued. "Yacker says he can take us there without us having to use the plane." Smiling, the twin-tailed fox swished his tails happily. "I'm going to go get something to eat; don't you two get too wrapped into each other!" Tails walked off to the kitchen, laughing the whole way.

Sonic huffed once the kit left, still blushing. He soon smirked, however, facing Jessica. "Y'know, that lip gloss of yours is pretty addicting...think I just might want another taste of it..."

"You know I can hear you, right?" Tails' voice called out from the kitchen laughingly.

Sonic blushed madly, muzzle now cherry red. "Don't you ever give anyone privacy in their love-life?!"
